Head of Engineering

We are looking for an enthusiastic technology leader with the drive to realize innovative technical solutions to join our team.

As the Head of Engineering at Bizzy, you are responsible for leading and shaping our technological vision. You have the opportunity to lead a talented team of engineers and define the technological roadmap for our company.

This role reports directly to the CEO and is located in Ghent, with flexibility for working from home half of your time.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Develop and implement the technical strategy and vision, driving technical projects from concept to delivery.
• Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development for the technical team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and emphasizing growth and collaboration.
• Identify and evaluate new technologies and innovative solutions.
• Facilitate effective collaboration between the engineering teams and other departments, ensuring seamless communication and coordination across projects and initiatives.
• Ensure quality assurance and compliance with technical standards.
• Uphold and drive technical excellence within the teams, ensuring adherence to industry best practices, security standards, and Bizzy’s quality benchmarks.
• Manage the technical budget.

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:

• Leadership Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in technical leadership.
• Passion for Technology: Vision and strategic thinking to achieve technological goals.
• Passion for people: You ****are a natural leader, enjoying interactions with your team and uplifting them to their full potential.
• Entrepreneurial and Results-Driven Mindset: You have an entrepreneurial spirit and are driven to achieve results. Your keen attention to detail will be crucial in ensuring the delivery of a high-quality product and driving our team to excel.
• Strong strategic thinking, analytical skills, and business acumen, with the ability to translate insights into actionable plans.
• Social and Communicative: Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Flexible mindset: You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy the typical start-up challenges. If you know, you know.
• Fluency in English: You are fluent in both English, both spoken and written.
